Six Week Sessions

In this parent and family participation class, interactive free play as well as structured play scenarios are guided by the instructor.  Your child will learn to increase his or her social-emotional, communication, and thinking skills and capacities through the natural joy of socially interactive play.

Research has shown that thinking, communicating, planning, collaborating, and implementing skills and capacities are fundamental to development of self-worth/esteem, humanity-esteem, and inner self-discipline, and that play is a powerful vehicle for teaching these skills–and it of course provides natural joy for the whole family!  All family members are welcome in this intergenerational class, including infants and toddlers.  One adult at least 18 years of age or older must attend each class with the children in his or her care.

Additionally, academic and practical life skills will be taught within natural learning settings according to each individual child’s needs.  Parents will learn “how to teach their children anything” from academics to loving behaviors.  Parents will also become familiar with the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards, which the instructor will monitor and track jointly with the parent.

Please note all arrival/departure times are flexible to meet your family’s needs. Our goal is joyful presence, rather than pressure.
